U17s take title after finishing season unbeaten

Castle Hill RSL Cricket Club’s U17 Thunder team have won the inaugural Thunder Girls Cricket League spring competition after an undefeated season.

Castle Hill RSL Cricket Club’s U17 Thunder team have won the inaugural Thunder Girls Cricket League spring competition after an undefeated season.

The team competed in the U17 Northwest Sydney zone during the nine-week competition, and secured eight wins and a washed out round.

The U17 Thunders rec­eived their premiership medals at the innings break of the inaugural Women’s Big Bash League game at Howell Oval in Penrith on December 6.

The Thunders team was made up of Molly Godsell, Lily Hodge, Sara Hodge, Alannah Hungerford, Isabella Malgioglio, Jessika Nash, Kate Peterson, Sonali Ram and Hayley Silver-Holmes.

Castle Hill RSL Cricket Club entered two other teams in the competition; the U13 side finished second in its division, while the U17 Lightning came fourth.

The Thunder Girls Cricket League replaced the Breakers Junior Cricket League competition, and is played in T20 format.
