The Sydney Comedy Festival has announced that its 2016 Cracker Night Special will be held at Parramatta’s Riverside Theatres on Wednesday, April 20.
It will mark the festival’s 12th year and feature a 27-day program of acts across some of the most iconic venues in Sydney, including Riverside Theatre, the Enmore Theatre and, for the first time in the festival’s history, Sydney Town Hall.
Cracker Night is set to kick the festival off with a bang as a dazzling line-up of the biggest and best Australian legends, international stars and the next big things of comedy bring their best material for a not-to-be-missed night of laughs.
Sydney Comedy Festival director Jorge Menidis said Cracker Night was perfect for anyone who wanted to enjoy a little bit of everything.
“If you’re not sure what to see at the festival, be quick to grab a ticket to one of the festival’s specials,” Mr Menidis said.
“The specials are a series of showcase-type shows that offer a snapshot of an array of artists in one brilliantly hilarious bill.”
Although the exact line-up of the night can’t be revealed, the special is sure to feature several of the top international and local comics around, such as David O’Doherty, Stephen K Amos and Dave Hughes.
Cracker Night will kick off at Riverside’s Rafferty’s Theatre at 7.30pm.
