Lachlans Line at Macquarie Park will stand tall

A NEW ESTATE at Macquarie Park will be home to 5000 residents when it is finished - and new concept drawings for just a slice of the site show plans for six towers and more than 850 units.

SEVENTEEN storey towers and 854 units will form the first part of the Lachlan’s Line estate at Macquarie Park.

Developer Greenland Australia has announced details of its 1.53ha site on the 9ha property, bounded by Epping, Delhi and Wicks roads, with the M2 motorway running along the northern boundary.

Six towers ranging from seven to 17 storeys will stand above shops and restaurants.

Lachlan’s Line will have about 2700 units and 5000 residents by the time it is completed.

The State Government announced the Priority Precinct in 2013 and sold parcels of land to developers, like Greenland, to provide a significant number of homes and businesses.

UrbanGrowth NSW is planning the precinct and providing infrastructure, parks and roads.

It is currently designing Central Park, at the centre of the estate, which will include playgrounds, a stage and skate park.

A pedestrian and cycleway bridge will link residents with North Ryde train station.

Greenland Australia managing director Sherwood Luo said he believed the precinct’s shopping, and short distance to major employers and Macquarie University would appeal to young people.

Greenland is still to lodge a development application.

Housing at Lachlans Line is expected to be completed in about 10 years, according to UrbanGrowth.

It expects about 3000 parking spaces to be provided based on its masterplan, but this will depend on developer plans.
