IT WAS a top day to be out on Saturday and what better way to spend it than attending the 15th Riverstone Festival at Park Street.
Up to 5000 people attended this year with the street parade the highlight which featured schools and superheroes like Superman and Batman and the NSW Police band, who attended for the first time.
Festival founder Phyllis McAlpine said for the first time Blacktown City Band won the best in parade prize and Riverstone Public School the best group display.
Organised by Combined Churches of Riverstone and supported by Blacktown City Council there was something for everyone with stalls, carnival rides, a display of restored cars, old fire trucks and antique farm machinery.
