EVERY day living costs are what families struggle with the most according to Rouse Hill Salvation Army captain San Holland.

She will be walking our streets with a throng of volunteers on the weekend for the Salvos annual Red Shield Appeal in a bid to help raise much needed funds to help our families in need.

“I am fairly new to the area and became the new captain here in January,’’ Mrs Holland said. “In this particular area I find most families struggle with everyday living expenses.

“I find the generosity and friendliness of the community here truly amazing,’’ Rouse Hill Salvation Army captain San Holland said.

“Even if some families are breaking even, it can take a car breakdown to really put pressure on family budgets.

“In saying that, though, I find the generosity and friendliness of the community here truly amazing.’’

Mrs Holland is joined by her son Liam Holland, who is her assistant ministry worker, while her husband Topher is based at the Salvation Army headquarters in the City.

Rouse Hill Salvation Army conducts services every Sunday at the Beaumont Hills Community Centre. This year’s Red Shield Appeal aims to raise $74 million nationwide.
