Ryde state MP Victor Dominello has begun investigations into alternative locations for new commuter car parking near Eastwood Station.
“Following feedback received from the community, the original site identified onRowe St will no longer be pursued as a location for the car park,” Mr Dominello said.
“Investigations for other feasible locations within the Eastwood area are under way.
“The State Government originally planned to deliver 230 spaces at the Rowe St site, and we remain committed to building just as many at an alternative location, but we will need to do more investigative work to see what’s possible,” he said.
“At the end of the day, the priority here is to find a new location that delivers the best community outcome possible.”
Transport for NSW will be making an application to Ryde Council to access the lower field of Eastwood Oval to undertake engineering investigations for the suitability of that site as a caT
If that were found to be suitable, the existing sports field would be relocated to the roof of the carpark on a synthetic all-season field.
“We will report back to the community on the possibility of Eastwood Oval being a possible site, subject to the council providing access and the engineering investigations.
The project would be part of the Transport Access Program to deliver modern, safe, and accessible transport infrastructure.
