A NEW fleet of double decker buses and new public transport routes for The Hills have been announced by the NSW government ahead of the budget.
The 80 seat double deckers can carry 65 per cent more capacity than normal size buses, and will be used on key corridors including the busy Rouse Hill-City service (route 607X) and the Rouse Hill and Castle Hill to City M2 (route 610X/M61).
There will also be a new Hills bus route — 605 North Kellyville to Rouse Hill Town Centre.
Around 3800 extra weekly services will be added across NSW as part of a $108 million investment in new buses, including 12 new or extended routes throughout Sydney.
Transport Minister Andrew Constance said: “Thousands of Sydneysiders rely on bus travel every day to get from A to B and we know demand for services is continually increasing, particularly in growth centres in the northwest and southwest, as well as in inner city areas like Green Square.”
Treasurer Gladys Berejiklian will deliver the budget next Tuesday.
