Hundreds of people lined up to meet Delta Goodrem at Castle Towers on Friday night, with some waiting more than six hours.
The singer returned to the Hills, where she grew up, to promote her latest album, Wings of the Wild.
After a quick Q&A session, Goodrem met and signed autographs for fans.
Annelise Fagan, of Schofields, and her friend Taylor Knell, of Wollongong, were first in line to meet Goodrem after waiting about seven hours.
Ms Fagan, who had waited since about 10am to meet Goodrem, was in tears after she met the pop star.
“I relate to her so easily, and her songs are so powerful,” said the long-time fan.
Also waiting in line were Maria Harrison, of St Clair, and her children, Noah, 7, and Hayley, 9.
Mrs Harrison has been a Goodrem fan since she was 16, and has travelled to Victoria, Queensland and around NSW to meet her.
Noah, a cancer survivor, has a special love for Goodrem, who was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma at the age of 18.
Hayley, who brought Goodrem flowers, had a special request for the coach of reality television show The Voice.
“I’m going to ask if I can go on The Voice,” she said.
