Two charged after fight at Bankstown service station

Two men have been charged after a brawl broke out between a group of men at a BP service station in Bankstown on Tuesday night.

Two groups of men had to be separated by police during a fight at a Bankstown service station on Tuesday, leading to two people being arrested and charged.

One of the men has been charged with carrying a knife while a male, 18, suffered a cut lip and was treated at the scene.

A police spokesman said the fight occurred about 6.45pm at the BP station on Chapel Rd, Bankstown, with a number of men involved.

“On arrival officers located a group of men involved in a physical altercation,” the police spokesman said.

“Officers separated all parties and arrested two men aged 19 and 26.

“They were taken to Bankstown police station where the younger man was charged with affray, common assault and breach of bail.

“The older man was charged with affray, common assault and being armed with intent to commit indictable offence (knife).”

Both were refused bail and will appear in Bankstown Local Court today.
