Homes along a quiet street in Sydney’s south west were bathed in red and blue light on Monday night, following reports of a 23-year-old woman in distress.

Up to half a dozen police officers attended the home on Wesley Street in Greenacre, using police tape to cordon off a perimeter stretching from the streets Hume Hwy entrance to Glover Street.

Arriving at approximately 8.30pm, officers spent at least two hours on the scene, with residents given little to no information as to the circumstances of the police operation.

In a statement released to the Canterbury-Bankstown Express, NSW Police said officers from Bankstown Police Area Command were called to the home where they “conducted inquiries and conducted a search nearby,” before locating the 23-year-old woman safe and well.

No further police action is anticipated at this time.
