Callum Fulton is going far in softball — all the way to Japan.
The 12-year-old Picnic Point player was invited to join a selective NSW under 13s team to travel to Osaka for a 10-day tour.
The team leave on Wednesday and will play a three-day tournament in Osaka followed by sightseeing and touring some of Japan’s biggest attractions.
Callum first entered the diamond when he was seven, and has lived and breathed softball ever since.
“I just love the game, being in a team and playing together,” he said.
He has played in two representative teams for Georges River Softball Association, the under 11s and under 13s, competing against other representative teams for the Softball State Cup.
While Callum isn’t a fan of sushi he said he’s looking forward to seeing some of the sights with his dad, Scott.
To help him get to Japan, Callum set up a Go Fund Me page to help cover the $4000 required for the trip.
While he has already raised $2700, he still has a little way to go to reach his funding target.
