Family values run right to the core of the Woodville Wanderers Football Club.

For vice-president Eve Nembotakis, it has even more meaning — her partner is the club president and her four children all played for the Woodville Wanderers at one stage.

Ms Nembotakis, 45, has dedicated 15 years of her life to the club. It all started when her first child began playing football for the club, known at the time as Villawood United Soccer Club.

Before long, she was lending a hand as the club registrar and treasurer.

This year she became the club’s vice-president.

Ms Nembotakis also manages the all ages ladies’ team, which won last year’s grand final.

The club is relatively small, with only eight teams, but it means closer ties between members.

“It’s like a family-oriented club. Everyone is close and do things for each other,” Ms Nembotakis said. “I love giving my time to people.”

Her partner, Tony Barr, said she was selfless.

“Eve has a family of her own but always gives more than 100 per cent to the community,” he said.

Ms Nembotakis has been nominated for the Service to Sport award.
