A second man has been charged over an alleged carjacking involving a heavily pregnant woman and her two young children in Greenacre almost two weeks ago.

The 18-year-old Fairfield man’s arrest follows that of a 20-year-old man in Campbelltown on Thursday, March 22.

About 4:20pm on Saturday, March 16, Bankstown Police Area Command will allege a woman arranged to meet with two men outside a home on Mahogany Way, Greenacre, regarding an online advertisement for a 2014 black Mercedes A45 AMG.

One of the men allegedly entered the vehicle with the 34-year-old woman, and two children — a boy, 10, and an eight-year-old girl — for a test drive.

The vehicle stopped at the intersection of Maiden and Norfolk streets, Greenacre, and the man entered the driver’s seat.

Police allege the man drove away and the woman fell over after attempting to grab hold of the door.

The car stopped down the road and the children exited, before it drove away, police said

The woman was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for bruising and grazes while the children were uninjured.

Following inquiries, about 11pm on Thursday, March 28, an 18-year-old man was arrested at a house on Selwyn Place, Fairfield West.

He was taken to Bankstown Police Station and charged with aggravated robbery.

The Fairfield West man was refused bail and is due to appear in Bankstown Local Court today (Friday).

The woman — who has asked not to be named — told The Daily Telegraph she has cuts along her elbows and knees after being dragged for metres while holding on to the car door.

“A man called me to come have a look at a car I was selling and when we were test driving I got out to go around the car to get in the passenger seat so he could drive and he sped off with my children in the back,” she said.

“I’ve grazed my knees and elbows while I was holding on to the door and then yelled down a passing car so we could go after him.

“I got in the car with the random person and after a few hundred metres I saw my boy and girl standing on the side of the road.”
