Long suffering residents, who struggle to find parking near Revesby train station, will get relief with 400 more car spaces to be built shortly.
Once complete there will more than 1200 spaces with Premier Gladys Berejiklian confirming the government will spend $19 million to build the extended car park.
There could be two and a half levels at the current multistorey commuter car park to the northeast of the station.
“People love to park their cars near the station but we need to build more spots” Premier Gladys Berejiklian told the Express at Revesby.
“On top of the 850 car spaces already here, we will build another 400 spaces,” Ms Berejiklian said.
“I am really grateful to the local Liberal candidate Wendy Lindsay (for pointing this out) and the support from East Hills MP Glenn Brookes.
“We are doing all we can to encourage people to use public transport and extra car
spaces give commuters a good reason to do so.”
Ms Lindsay said: “This is great news for locals who have been a part of the massive growth in patronage on the Sydney Trains network over the past few years.
“We will extend the current multistorey commuter car park to the northeast of
Revesby station, adding two and a half levels to create 400 new car spaces.”
The NSW Government said it provided 6,000 new commuter car spaces at several locations since 2011, including Padstow (107) and Holsworthy (462).
Meanwhile, Revesby and Roselands will be the venues for the new mobile Service NSW buses which will be on the road for 46 weeks a year and can be requested by organisations.
“These buses will take Service NSW to people’s front steps, saving them not only time,
but also money,” Ms Berejiklian said.
“These buses will also massively expand Service NSW’s reach across the State and
make it even easier for our customers to complete government transactions and
access our cost of living support.
Mr Dominello, who was praised by the Premier for his work in boosting Service NSW, said they want to reach people who”can’t reach us”.
“The bad old days of waiting hours to complete a simple Government transaction, such
as renewing your driver's licence, are over,” Mr Dominello said.
“These new Service NSW buses will be able to provide all the services currently available at most centres, including appointments with cost of living specialists and driver knowledge tests.
“They’ll roll through towns with advanced notice, so locals will know when to expect a
visit and what documentation is required to perform their transaction.
“They will also be called out in times of emergency such as natural disasters.”
