Police hunt for man who allegedly threatened Belmore worshippers with golf club
A MAN allegedly used a golf club to threaten worshippers in Belmore on Friday afternoon, before being ushered out by members of the congregation.

A MAN allegedly used a golf club to threaten worshippers in Belmore on Friday afternoon, before being ushered out by members of the congregation.
Investigators are appealing for help to find a man, who was last seen walking east on Burwood Rd, Belmore, towards Belfield, who they believe can assist them with their inquiries. No one was reportedly hurt.
Campsie Police Area Command Crime Manager Detective Inspector Paul Albury said police are extremely concerned about the nature of the incident.
“To enter a place of worship and threaten the congregation is very concerning and disturbing to us,” Det Insp Albury said.
“We are urging anyone who may recognise the man, or know his whereabouts, to contact us immediately.”
About 12.45pm on Friday, police said a man entered a place of worship on Burwood Rd at Belmore and threatened those inside with a golf club.
“The man allegedly yelled obscenities at the congregation before he was escorted from the building,” police said.
“Police were alerted and officers from Campsie Police Area Command attended and commenced inquiries.”
Police have released an image and description of a man they wish to speak to as part of their investigation, who is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged 30-40, with an athletic build, and short blonde hair.
He was last seen wearing a purple collared dress shirt, khaki coloured dress shorts, white shoes with black trim.
Police said he has tattoos on his left inner forearm, and the side of his neck.
