Popular eateries across the state have been named and shamed on the NSW Food Authority’s latest list of food safety breaches, including an Italian restaurant in Goulburn which received four separate penalties.
The NSW Food Authority publishes a name and shame list on its website highlighting businesses which it claims have breached food safety standards.
Breaches from September have now been added to the unenviable list with 10 businesses slapped with fines.
Goulburn’s La Casa Italiana Restaurant on Auburn St was issued with four separate penalties during that period totalling $1760 in fines.
The penalties related to cleanliness, failing to store food properly including under temperature control, and failing to have adequately trained staff in charge of food handling.
Meanwhile, Canterbury Bankstown LGA had the highest number of establishments breaching food safety standards within a single council area, with three during September.
That included Supa IGA in Georges Hill, Hong Phat Bakery in Campsie, and Street Food Asia in Roselands.
Businesses issued with a penalty notice are listed on the name and shame list for 12 months.
