NSW council elections 2024: Canterbury-Bankstown councillors revealed

With the results out following the local government elections, these are the new and returning faces at Canterbury-Bankstown Council.
Labor has just managed to scrape through a majority in one of its traditional strongholds, with the Revesby Ward electing two Liberal candidates.
Nine of the 15 elected councillors have been re-elected, while the remaining six are starting their first terms.
The new faces include the Greens’ Conroy Blood, along with candidates from the Our Local Community and Community Voice of Australia parties.
Bankstown Ward
Labor candidates Bilal El-Hayek and Khal Asfour have been re-elected for the Bankstown Ward, alongside Liberal candidate George Zakhia.
The Bankstown Ward covers the suburbs of Bankstown, Chullora, Greenacre, Mount Lewis, and Punchbowl.
Bass Hill Ward
Labor candidates Rachelle Harika and Christopher Cahill have been re-elected for the Bass Hill ward.
However, Community Voice of Australia Saud Abu-Samen will replace former Liberal councillor Charlie Ishac as the third elected Bass Hill representative.
The Bass Hill Ward covers the suburbs of Bass Hill, Birrong, Chester Hill, Condell Park, Georges Hall, Lansdowne, Potts Hill, Regents Park, Sefton, Villawood, and Yagoona.
Canterbury Ward
Labor candidate Clare Raffan and independent candidate Barbara Coorey have been re-elected for the Canterbury Ward.
For the first time, Greens candidate Conroy Blood has also been elected as the third Canterbury councillor.
The Canterbury Ward covers the suburbs of Ashbury, Belfield, Campsie, Canterbury, Clemont Park, Croydon Park, Earlwood, and Hurlstone Park.
Revesby Ward
Liberal candidates Wendy Lindsay and Jennifer Walther have been elected for the Revesby Ward, replacing former Liberal councillor Charbel Abouraad and Labor’s Linda Downey.
Another Labor candidate, David Walsh, was re-elected to represent the Revesby Ward.
Roselands Ward
Labor’s Khodr ‘Karl’ Saleh has been releected alongside Sherin Akther for the Roselands Ward, replacing former councillor Sazeda Akter.
Our Local Community candidate Harry Stavrinos has also been elected, replacing former councillor Bhadra Waiba and completing the three Roselands representatives.
The Roselands Ward covers the suburbs of Belmore, Beverly Hills, Kingsgrove, Lakemba, Narwee, Punchbowl, Riverwood, Roselands, and Wiley Park.
