Moses Succar allegedly involved in IED explosion in Canterbury
A young Sydney electrician charged over an explosion of an IED made of thumb tacks and butane canisters that left an innocent woman with serious burns to her body is preparing to face court.

An electrician allegedly involved in the planting and detonation of a IED is being held in Long Bay Prison ahead of his next court appearance.
Moses Rafael Succar, 19, from Punchbowl, is one of nine arrested after allegedly being involved with the IED (Improvised Explosive Device) made of sparklers, aerosol cans and thumb tacks that went off at a Sydney woman’s Canterbury home on June 8.

As a result of the blast Denise Lavell suffered serious burns to her face and body and police alleged it had the “real potential to kill.”
Succar was arrested in the early hours of August 13 after a special strike force raided multiple homes across Sydney.
The teen was charged with causing an explosive to explode with the intent to burn or cause harm to Ms Lavell.
Court attendance notices allege Succar used “butane canisters, sparklers and thumb tacks to explode with intent to burn and maim” Ms Lavell at her Canterbury home between 11.10pm and 11.40pm that night.
Succar will return to court next month.
Eight co-accused linked to the alleged explosion including apprentice plumber Massimo Lombardo and former Waverley College student Joshua Lowe remain before the courts.
