Missing woman believed killed in shocking truck crash near Bankstown
A woman killed after being struck by a truck in Sydney’s southwest overnight is believed to be missing 85-year-old woman Sabat Abdul Massih.

A woman killed after being struck by a truck in Sydney’s southwest overnight is believed to be missing 85-year-old woman Sabat Abdul Massih, who was last seen in the Guildford area on Wednesday.
Officers from the Bankstown Police Area Command were called to Rookwood Rd near Potts Hill shortly before 7pm on May 24 after multiple reports that a person had been walking on the busy arterial road.
Shortly before police arrived, a B-double struck travelling southbound had struck a pedestrian, police allege.
The 70-year-old driver stopped immediately and offered assistance, but the woman died at the scene.
While the woman has not been formally identified, police believe it to be the missing Ms Abdul Massih and her family has been notified.
Concerns were held for Ms Abdul Massih’s wellbeing after she was last seen walking on Cross St, Guildford, about 7am on May 24, and according to her family suffers from dementia and other medical conditions.
Information received by police suggested she may have been in the Auburn area around 2pm on Wednesday.
In the aftermath of the crash, the truck driver was taken to Bankstown Hospital for mandatory testing
