A man has been assaulted by a masked attacker who forced himself inside his car before the pair erupted into a wrestle and crashed into a fast food restaurant in Sydney’s southwest.

Police and emergency services were called to The Boulevarde at Punchbowl about 11am on Thursday after reports a vehicle crashed into a Domino’s Pizza restaurant.

A 30-year-old man was leaving a gym and walking to his vehicle when a man wearing a balaclava forced himself into his vehicle.

The alleged victim started driving away and the pair wrestled inside the car for a short time, before the vehicle then crashed into the front window of the store.

Punchbowl Domino’s Pizza store manager Utsav Patel said no employees suffered any injuries.

“Our other manager, who started one month ago, he was working and he ran out the front but he’s fine, he’s ok,” he said.

Mr Patel said the car smashed into the open dining area and some windows, tiles and steel railing were damaged.

“We are still working but are only taking online orders as the front doors will stay closed,” he said.

Both men fled the scene prior to police arrival, before the 30-year-old returned a short time later.

Initial inquiries suggest three men – all wearing balaclavas – were seen fleeing the scene in a white van.

He was assessed at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics but did not require hospital treatment.

Detectives from Campsie Police Area Command have established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
