Man charged over Punchbowl kidnapping following Strike Force Pepis investigation
A 22-year-old man has been charged over his alleged role in a kidnapping which saw a man dragged onto the street and forced into a van in Punchbowl.

A 22-year-old man has been charged for his alleged role in an kidnapping in Sydney’s south west.
Police were told a 30-year-old man was confronted by a group of men at a Punchbowl home about 9:25pm on March 21. 2021, before he was dragged onto the street and forced into a van.
After two days, the alleged kidnap victim returned home and did not require hospital treatment.
A strike force investigation – led by State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad – saw the arrest of a 22-year-old man last year. He remains before the courts.
Following further inquiries strike force detectives – supported by the Raptor Squad – arrested a 22-year-old man at a Condell Park home about 7.20am Wednesday.
The man was taken to Bankstown police station where he was charged with taking/detaining in company with intent to get advantage occasion actual bodily harm and participating in a criminal group.
He was refused bail to appear before Bankstown Local Court today.
Investigations are continuing.
