A WOMAN will face court today after allegedly biting, scratching and spitting on seven police officers at Belmore station last night.

Police were called to Belmore about 11pm after reports that the 23-year-old woman was allegedly threatening commuters with a knife at both Campsie and Belmore stations.

When officers from Campsie LAC arrived and tried to arrest the woman, she allegedly started swearing at them.

During a search of the woman, officers allegedly located a flick knife in her handbag.

The item was seized and will undergo forensic examinations.

She was taken to Campsie Police Station where she was later charged with seven counts of assaulting police, resist arrest, offensive language, and custody of a knife in a public place.

She was refused bail and is due to appear at Burwood Local Court today.
