SULTRY Samantha Jade still can’t believe how fast her career has taken off after she stunned even herself by winning the X Factor.
The 31-year-old Perth-born entertainer has branched into movies — she acted in INXS: Never tears Us Apart among others — in addition to composing and releasing songs.
Jade, who will perform at Revesby Workers Club on Saturday, September 22, with The Voice winner Alfie Alcuri, said there is much to be celebrated after her breakthrough win at the 2012 The X Factor Australia.
Her show, Best of My Love, will feature songs from the queens of disco including Donna Summer, Diana Ross and Gloria Gaynor and also songs by the Bee Gees and ABBA from that era.
“I very happy with my work in the industry and very excited to be on the road for my first tour,” Jade told the Express.
“Winning The X Factor was amazing because I never thought I would win it.
“It was one of those ‘pinch yourself’ moments and I am grateful for this.
“I put in a lot of work to be the best I can be.
Jade’s single from the competition, What You’ve Done For Me, was number one to the ARIA charts and her among her big supporting acts was with One Direction during their February 2015 tour in Australia.
Jade has been a model since she was and has had a busy career so far, admitting she missed out on the growing up as a teen because of her entertainment commitments.
“It feels great to be on stage again and I think this is the right time to visit disco,” the 31-year-old bubbly entertainer said.
“People love this type of music and I love disco too, though I didn’t grow up with it.
“I also love Motown music.
“My parents loved music but I am the first in the family to venture into music.”
Jade said she would love to do more movies and also tour overseas in the future.
