Tributes have flowed for a man who tragically died after he was hit by a truck in Sydney’s southwest.
Imad Nakhle, 56, of Croydon Park, was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics after being struck by the truck about 4.30pm on Thursday, August 27 at a business complex on Punchbowl Rd in Greenacre, but died at the scene.
Auburn Police Area Command are investigating the incident and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
Mr Nakhle’s older brother George Nakhle said his sibling was “a beautiful soul and “a harmless God-fearing guy”.
“Imad ... called me that day at 11am to ask directions to that place as if he knew I won’t see him again,” he said.
He said his brother treated his son and daughter “like his own” and will never be forgotten.
“Always looked up to me, anything he needed took care of him in every way possible. But I couldn’t be with him 24 hours a day, only God Almighty could (do) that.”
A mechanic from the business complex, who did not want to be named, said Mr Nakhle was a friend of his who came from the same village in Lebanon, Jieh.
He said the former factory driver was “a good man”.
Another business operator at the complex paid tribute to Mr Nakhle’s family, saying, “God bless him and his family.”
The incident sparked a large emergency response with five ambulance crews and police called to the scene.
