AT LEAST 80,000 people are expected to flock to Bankstown Showground this week for the Annual Islamic Eid Show.

The popular family-friendly event celebrates Eid ul-Fitr, marking the end of fasting during Ramadan, but it is open to everyone.

The show starts on Friday night and continues over the weekend.

It features an ice-skating rink, amusement rides, camel and horse rides, petting zoo, reptile show, character appearances, fun family games on stage, a free arts and crafts tunnel, sherbet and balloon twisting shows and a spectacular fireworks display every night.

There will also be a grand bazaar with an array of multicultural food and specialty stalls. Entry to the show is free.

Organisers of the Bankstown Eid Show said because the Eid Show’s popularity was growing, the event would expand to Melbourne for the first time.

The Bankstown show, at 178 Eldridge Rd, starts on Friday, 4pm-10pm and also runs Saturday and Sunday, 11am-10pm.

Another Eid show will run in Bankstown’s Paul Keating Park on Saturday and Sunday.

From 10am-9pm the Sydney Eid Show will feature rides, jumping castles, fireworks, food stalls and more.
