Speaking outside the court room, Mr Elfawal told NewsLocal, “It‘s way too early to comment. The fact sheet alleges very sinister conduct. Whether the police evidence can confirm that conduct was that of my client is yet to be seen.

“We‘re going to have to wait for the evidence.”

It comes after a first man, Mahmoud Rizk, was charged when the little girl in her pyjamas was allegedly shot in a drive-by shooting at a Connells Point home last week.

Police allege an armed gunman exited his vehicle and approached the family in their driveway before firing at the girl, who was with her mother and two siblings were unloading groceries in the driveway of the Queens Rd, Connells Point home about 6pm on Friday when the alleged shooting occurred.

Investigators later found a gun in bushland at Oatley Pleasure Grounds on Saturday afternoon and it is being forensically and ballistically examined.

Speaking to media today, Detective acting chief superintendent Grant Taylor said the two men likely went to the premises to shoot another person, but may have changed their target.

“When that person was not at the premises they may have taken it upon themselves to shoot at the young girl,” he said.

That is reflected in Osseili‘s charge for conspiring and agreeing to murder. Files submitted to court confirm police believe he conspired to murder a 36-year old man.

Osseili’s case will next be heard in Sutherland court on September 13.
