A man’s body has been found after an apartment burst into flames in Sydney’s southwest.
Police were called to Wilkins St, Yagoona about 10:30am today after Fire and Rescue NSW found the man in the ruins of the two-storey unit block.
More than 20 Fire and Rescue NSW firefighters and six fire trucks were deployed to the scene, with the fire on the ground floor contained and extinguished in approximately 30 minutes.
The man, who is yet to be identified, was found deceased in the unit and three people were treated for smoke inhalation by paramedics.
The rear of the unit was destroyed by the fire.
A crime scene has been established and police and specialist investigators from Fire and Rescue NSW are investigating the cause of the blaze.
Police will prepare a report for the information of the Coroner.
