A self-described “scumbag on paper” who allegedly tried to break into a woman’s home and threatened to kill her son has lost his latest bid for bail.

Zane Alchin, 29, was refused bail in the Supreme Court after he was charged with entering enclosed lands and intimidation over a series of alarming alleged incidents in April.

Police prosecutor Sergeant Geha told Central Local Court at the time police would allege Alchin had referred to the woman’s infant as “a waste of a child”.

“Your honour would note on page three of the submission where he wrote ‘he’s a waste of a child and I’m going to make you write an apology in your son’s blood’,” Sgt Geha said.

“He made threats to kill the victim’s 10 month old baby.”

Through his Legal Aid solicitor Alchin denied the “nature” of the alleged texts and claimed they were intended for the woman’s ex-boyfriend.

In the Supreme Court, Justice David Walton described Alchin as a “disturbed individual” after the court heard he had a history of alarming violent behaviour and domestic violence.

“He has (allegedly) engaged in frightening behaviour towards the complainant,” Justice Walton said.

Alchin had sought bail conditions akin to house arrest and had requested to live with his grandmother in Ramsgate.

He was refused bail to return to Sutherland Local Court on June 25.
