A woman was treated for injuries all over her body after she was allegedly assaulted and robbed near Cronulla Mall on Saturday night.

The 27-year-old woman and her friend, 25, were walking along the Kingsway when they were allegedly confronted by two other women.

The pair of women allegedly pulled the 27-year-old woman to the ground and punched and kicked her before stealing a small purse and fleeing.

The 25-year-old woman was allegedly struck in the face by one of the women as she attempted to intervene before an employee from a nearby liquor store pulled the women apart.

A 28-year-old woman was arrested by Sutherland Shire police officers at the scene and charged with assault in company causing actual bodily harm, common assault and stealing items worth less than $2000 from a person.

She will face Sutherland Local Court on May 2.

Police are still looking for the second woman who is yet to be identified after she allegedly fled the scene.

The 27-year-old woman was treated for swelling to her head and cuts to her leg, arm and back.
