A woman was caught with an old bag of ice stashed in last winter’s jeans when police came calling after she forgot to report for bail.

Sherridan Broadhurst, 28, was charged with prohibited drug possession after police found 0.3g of methylamphetamine in her back pocket when she was arrested.

Broadhurst was required to report for bail every day after she was charged in October 2019 with nicking someone’s cordless angle grinder and flogging it off at Club Engadine.

Police facts reveal Broadhurst and a male broke into an Engadine garage and rifled through the tool cupboard before taking a blue Makita cordless angle grinder and the spare batteries.

“The victim informed police that Broadhurst was not given permission to enter the premises, enter the garage or take any property belonging to him,” court documents state.

Police then obtained CCTV footage of Broadhurst and the man at Club Engadine RSL on October 6 cashing in on the stolen tool after a conversation with punters at the bar.

“(The male) proceeded to show the group of males numerous items contained within his black Country Road bag before removing the Makita angle grinder from the bag temporarily,” court documents state.

“A short time later a male known to police approached the male and Broadhurst and handed over money for the purchase of the Makita angle grinder and batteries.”

Police later located and seized the angle grinder at a Helensburgh property.

She was charged with receiving stolen goods, stealing property from a house and entering enclosed lands.

Broadhurst was convicted and sentenced to a six-month conditional release order at Sutherland Local Court on May 14 for the property matters.

She was sentenced to a 12-month conditional release order at the same court on Thursday for the drug possession and no further action was taken on the bail breach.
