Kristin O’Brien: Alleged Cronulla hit and run driver to stand trial
Police allege Kristin O’Brien deliberately ran over a man after hitting the victim’s car in a bizarre midnight altercation in Cronulla.

A man who allegedly deliberately ran over someone on a suburban Cronulla street and then fled will stand trial in the Sydney District Court next month.
The crown have dropped charges of attempted murder, dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm and reckless driving against Kristin Nigel John O’Brien, 50, of Sutherland.
O’Brien appeared in Sydney Central Local Court on Thursday in front of Magistrate Robert Williams via audio visual link.
The accused, who is represented by solicitor Matt Ward, is currently locked up in Long Bay prison.
His long dark hair was parted in the middle and tied back and he sported a lengthy beard.
O’Brien is still accused of using an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
The prosecution will also bring the “back up” charge of drive furiously in a motor vehicle and cause bodily harm before the District Court.
“I note Mr O’Brien you have pleaded not guilty,” Magistrate Williams said.
“I commit you for trial before the Sydney District court on October 2.”
Police allege O’Brien first hit another man’s car on Flinders Rd and then purposely ran the victim over in his Mitsubishi Pajero 4WD just after midnight on January 19.
The 46-year-old victim received injuries to his arms and torso.
