The lawyers for a loved-up young couple accused of supplying a whopping 15kg of cannabis from their Sydney apartment are negotiating with police about their serious charges in an effort to prevent the matter going to the District Court.
Tait Morgan and his girlfriend Judy Anne Cantiga were both charged with indictable drug supply in October 2020 after police allege they supplied more than 15kg of cannabis from their Wolli Creek address over two months.
Lawyers for the pair, accompanied by Cantiga who attended court alone, asked their matters to be adjourned in order to make representations to police.
A NSW Police prosecutor told the registrar at Sutherland Local Court the matter was expected to be prosecuted in the District Court by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
However, Morgan's solicitor said the matter was "not expected to drag on" and could yet remain in the local court.
Cantiga and Morgan's matters will be mentioned again at Sutherland Local Court on March 11.
