A wealthy party boy has been punished after his high-flying lifestyle ended with him dealing party drugs from his parents’ waterfront mansion and keeping vials of testosterone in their fridge.

Party promoter and personal trainer James Mina, 23, spent a week behind bars after his shock arrest for prohibited drug supply at his parents’ exclusive Sylvania Waters address in February this year.

Court documents previously revealed police found 20.48g of cocaine, 4.32g of MDMA, 10.53g of anabolic steroid Oxandrolone, 1.68g of anabolic steroid Mesterolone, 0.78g of dexamphetamine and 21.7g of testosterone in Mina’s bedroom.

“Investigators located six plastic bags of white powder suspected to be cocaine, five plastic bags of brown granules suspected to be MDMA, empty plastic bags, scales, spoons, scissors, and Glucodin commonly used as a cutting agent for cocaine,” police facts stated.

“They also located in the accused’s bedroom numerous other plastic bags containing unknown substances, an extendible baton, $2300 in a Louis Vuitton box, 105 Oxandrolone tablets and a box containing a variety of steroids.”

Police also found 20 vials of Somatropin human growth hormone in a fridge just outside Mina’s bedroom.

At Sutherland Local Court Mina pleaded guilty to prohibited drug supply and prohibited drug possession, with seven additional charges considered as part of the sentencing.

Magistrate Holly Kemp convicted Mina and sentenced him to a 12-month community correction order with supervision by Sutherland Community Corrections and a $1000 fine.

“I understand you have experienced some anxiety around the court case,” Ms Kemp told Mina.

“I’m satisfied your remorse is complete and that you continue to take positive steps towards your rehabilitation.”

Mina will be required to undertake supervision as part of his punishment.

The court heard Mina’s own recreational drug use had sparked his spiral into supply himself.

“You took your drug offending into your parents’ home – the people that love you and support you – and they have had to suffer through this process too,” Ms Kemp told Mina.

“In effect they got dragged into your mess – I hope this serves as a firm reminder to stay away from drugs because it can pull the carpet out from under you.”

Mina works at Fitness First Rockdale as a personal trainer and runs his own party promotion company called MisDeMina.
