A man who tumbled down a grass embankment is fighting for his life and four men have been charged after an alleged midnight brawl at a southern Sydney hotel.
Hurstville men Darshan Gurung, Prabesh Gauchan and Manohar Gurung and Jannali man Dipesh Kharel were charged with affray after an argument broke out following a late night drinking session at a hotel on Forest Rd, Hurstville at 3.15am on Saturday.
Police allege two men ran from the hotel after the incident escalated before they fell 3m down a grass embankment on Railway Pde.
Emergency services found a 23-year-old man in the gutter with a severe head injury.
He was taken to St George Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition on life support.
A 24-year-old man was found nearby suffering facial injuries and was admitted to the same hospital for treatment.
All four men were kept in custody overnight before Magistrate Robert Walker granted bail on strict conditions at Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday.
The group were all required to surrender their passports to Hurstville and Sutherland police stations respectively and refrain from drinking alcohol, taking drugs, entering any international points of departure or contacting the alleged victims and witnesses.
They will all have to report for bail daily between 8am and 8pm.
Gauchan also provided a $2000 security, while Kharel and Manohar Gurung provided a $1000 security for their releases.
Darshan Gurung did not provide any financial security.
The group will next face Sutherland Local Court on April 7.
