Two red pills stamped with the Defqon.1 logo were among more than 100 capsules seized from a drug dealer at the hardstyle festival where two people died last year.
David Lefu, 26, told police he knew he was “busted” after a security guard spotted him with a plastic bag filled with 126 pills at the festival in Penrith on September 26.
“The bag showed a weight of 13.4g and contained 13 smaller, clear resealable bags with purple strips across the top,” the agreed police facts stated.
“In total, there were 126 units of drugs: 74 capsules containing a yellowish crystal-like substance, 46 grey-coloured triangle shaped tablets, two red-coloured Defqon.1 shaped tablets and four round white tablets with 0.5g embossed into one side.”
Lefu has pleaded guilty to supplying an indictable quantity of prohibited drugs and will return to Sutherland Local Court before Magistrate Jayeann Carney on March 7.
A security guard at the festival stopped Lefu after he saw the Alfords Point man approach another man wearing a Bunnings Warehouse straw hat.
“The accused was observed to make an exchange with this male and placed a plastic bag into his pants pocket,” the agreed police facts stated.
“The (security guard) asked (Lefu) to show him what was in his pocket and the accused removed a large resealable plastic bag.”
Lefu told arresting officers “I’m in a lot of trouble, they are mine”.
During questioning at St Marys police station Lefu acknowledged he had been “busted with narcotics”.
“I bought (the pills) months ago, I’ve been holding onto them,” Lefu told police.
“I got my ticket for Defqon a few months ago too - I planned to bring (the drugs) into Defqon.”
Lefu also told officers he had taken three pills himself before entering the festival.
“I planned on selling them the other ones for about $35 each,” he told police.
Police found pills stamped with triangles when they busted a massive alleged drug lab in Mount Hunter last November.
Edensor Park man Joseph Pham and Melbourne woman Diana Nguyen both tragically died at Defqon.1 due to drug overdoses.
Triangle-stamped pills similar to those found at that lab were found in the possession of one of the festival’s overdose victims after their deaths.
The Daily Telegraph does not suggest Lefu supplied pills to either Mr Pham or Ms Nguyen at Defqon.1 last year.
