350 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Sydney’s southeast
Sydney’s southeast is still being hammered by coronavirus, with cases continuing to climb to 350 overnight. The region is responsible for a quarter of diagnosed cases across NSW.

The number of coronavirus cases in Sydney’s south and east has continued to climb, hitting 350 overnight and making up a quarter of NSW’s cases in total.
Almost 13,000 people have now been tested across the South East Sydney Local Health District, which incorporates the Sutherland Shire, St George, and the city’s eastern and southern suburbs from Bondi to Botany.
Waverley still has by far the highest number of cases out of any local government area in NSW, with 117 confirmed diagnoses as of yesterday.
Woollahra has the fourth-highest number of cases with 68.
The Sutherland Shire jumped slightly to 41 cases, with Bayside recording 17 and Georges River recording 13 cases.
NSW Health has now recorded two clusters within the SESLHD responsible for some of the biggest rates of COVID-19 transmission in the state.
More than 20 cases emerged among people who attended the Boogie Wonderland party at the Bucket List in Bondi on March 17.
Between 10 and 20 cases were identified among people who dined at an unidentified Bondi restaurant on the same day.
In Stanwell Tops just beyond the health district’s southern border 35 guests at a wedding caught COVID-19.
Known cases in Sydney’s south include a female retail worker at Menai Marketplace, a Cronulla man in his 50s and a midwife at St George Hospital.
On Thursday a total of 2059 passengers were screened at Sydney Airport and other ports of international arrival for possible COVID-19 symptoms, resulting in 17 people being transferred to hospital for testing.
