Police issue warrant for alleged Kingsgrove tyre slasher
A warrant has been issued for a man who allegedly went on a tyre-slashing spree through a south Sydney suburb. Police urge residents not to approach him.

A man is wanted by police after allegedly slashing the tyres on more than 40 cars in southwest Sydney in under four hours.
Michael Sahartor, also known as Hassan Saleh, 41, is wanted on an outstanding warrant for
more than 40 alleged malicious damage-related offences across Kingsgrove on September 15.
Residents woke up to find their tyres punctured and cars immobilised after Sahartor allegedly targeted vehicles parked on five streets between 2.30am and 6am.
CCTV footage shared to online community groups allegedly shows a hooded figure walking through the suburb slashing tyres with a knife.
NSW Police have put out an appeal for public assistance to locate Sahartor, identifying him as the alleged culprit.
“Michael Sahartor is wanted on an outstanding warrant for more than 40 alleged malicious damage-related offences,” the police statement read.
“Officers attached to St George Police Area Command are conducting inquiries into his whereabouts.
“Michael is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, of thin build, about 175cm tall, with black hair and a beard.”
NSW Police said Sahartor was known to frequent the Australian Capital Territory (ACT).
They urged anyone with information about his whereabouts not to approach Sahartor but to call triple-0 immediately.
The warning comes as the Kingsrove community call for Sahartor to be found and arrested.
Plans have also been made to form a Kingsgrove “neighbourhood watch” in response to the incident, with the first information session scheduled for September 29.
“Times are so tough and people do shit like this? What goes through their minds?” one resident posted.
With the average cost of a tyre replacement beginning at $100, the total cost of the damages can be expected to reach into the thousands.
