A coward who pushed his girlfriend to the ground on a main road in Sydney’s south resumed tormenting the victim within a day of being released on bail.
Shyang Jiang Jiing, 34, appeared in Sutherland Local Court via video link from custody on Monday where he pleaded guilty to three counts of common assault and breaching an apprehended domestic violence order.
Documents tendered in court state Jiing and the victim had been in a relationship for two months when he started abusing her.
Shortly after midnight on February 8 Jiing was arguing with the woman at his home in Kogarah when he picked her up, carried her to the bedroom and threw her on the bed.
Jiing, who worked as a plasterer, held his hand over the victim’s mouth to prevent her from screaming before the landlord entered the room and split them apart.
The documents state Jiing and the landlord told the woman not to report the offender to police.
A month later the pair were in the offender’s car in the middle of the night when he began chastising the woman for eating too much.
The documents state this was followed by Jiing listing “all the things he did not like” about his girlfriend.
Jiing stopped the car on Forest Rd, Bexley, before wrapping one arm around the woman’s head and squeezing her jaw.
The abuser slapped the victim’s face and tried to prevent her from exiting the car.
The violence spilt out of the car where Jiing pushed the woman to the ground before lifting her nightgown and hitting her buttocks and thigh four times.
The documents state the victim was able to escape and contact police at a nearby BP service station.
Jiing handed himself into Hurstville police station later that morning. He was taken to Kogarah command where he was charged and made full admissions to the violent conduct. The documents state Jiing was bailed with an interim ADVO put in place in order to protect the victim.
However, within a day the offender was repeatedly contacting the woman before turning up to her home and pressuring her to come outside.
The documents state Jiing dragged the victim across the road into his car with the shocking incident witnessed and recorded by two bystanders who contacted police.
The bystanders contacted police who were called to a nearby carpark where they arrested Jiing.
Jiing will be sentenced in August.
