A drug dealer has been warned to give up cocaine for the sake of his young family after being busted supplying the drug in Sydney’s notorious eastern suburbs.
Daelle Sisley-Peri, 27, from Riverwood, was supported by his partner in Waverley Local Court on Wednesday as he was sentenced for a string of charges including supply prohibited drug (cocaine).
The heavily-tattooed scaffolder was caught selling cocaine out of his Jeep in Bondi late last year.
The drug bust came just a week after he was convicted for an unrelated matter of serious violence.
The agreed facts stated Sisley-Peri was spotted by police driving near Royal Hotel Bondi during the night of December 29 last year, before picking up another man.
His passenger sat in the Jeep for the best part of a minute before hopping out and walking off.
Police became suspicious and stopped the passenger who was found with a bag of cocaine weighing 0.6g and he admitted to buying the drug from Sisley-Peri.
Police stopped Sisley-Peri nearby and searched his vehicle finding another bag of cocaine weighing 0.7g, which was discovered inside a larger bag resting on a baby seat. Police also found $550 in cash.
Sisley-Peri claimed that bag was for personal use and he was charged with possess prohibited drug, supply prohibited drug, deal with proceeds of crime and learner driver not accompanied, all of which he pleaded guilty to.
He was convicted on all charges on Wednesday and was sentenced to a community correction order with supervision for 18 months. He must also continue drug and alcohol counselling as part of the order.
The court heard he had struggled with a drug habit in the past and Magistrate Carolyn Huntsman warned he must get on top of his cocaine use for the sake of his young family.
She slammed him for selling the drug and said “not only does it support violence and organised crime” but it had long-term physical and mental health effects for users.
