Connor Lind: Kirrawee man charged with child sex offences has pre-trial dates set

Key dates have been set by the court before the trial of a former private school rugby player accused of having sexual relationships with two teenage girls under 16.

Key dates have been set in the lead-up to a trial involving a former private school rugby player accused of having sexual relationships with two teenage girls under 16.

Connor Lind, 21, was charged with four counts of having sexual intercourse with a child aged between 14 and 16 and one count of intentionally sexually touching a child of the same age in August 2021.

At his arraignment at Sydney District Court on July 29, Lind pleaded not guilty to all five offences, which allegedly occurred between November 2020 and May 2021.

At a call-over mention on Monday, Judge Kate Traill set a deadline of September 23 for the crown prosecutors and Lind’s lawyers to agree on certain facts to be presented to the trial, which will begin on September 12 next year — more than two years since he was first charged.

The parties were also directed to attend a pre-trial conference on September 21 and case management proceedings three days later.

Lind was legally excused from appearing in person at the District Court on Monday and was represented by his legal team.

The 21-year-old previously attended the prestigious St Augustines College in Brookvale, where he played in the 2nd XV as a scrum half and utility back.

He was also selected in the Sydney Junior Rugby 2017 representative U17s squad and more recently has competed with a northern beaches American college-style cheerleading team.

He currently lives in Kirrawee in Sydney’s south.
