Alan Marshall charged with drug driving again

An alleged ex-bikie with a significant history of drug and driving offences has been caught drug driving for the second time in 18 months, after previously telling a court he was trying to get his life on track.

An alleged ex-bikie and drug dealer has been busted drug driving for the second time in 18 months after Raptor Squad police pulled him over in Sydney’s south.

Alan Marshall, 38, was convicted of driving with cocaine in his system and placed on a 12-month conditional release order requiring him to be of good behaviour in August 2022.

Less than a year later, Raptor Squad officers once again caught him driving with cocaine in his blood.

Marshall was set to fight the charge of drug driving as a second or subsequent offence at Sutherland Local Court on May 3 before changing his plea to guilty.

He will instead be sentenced at the same court in three weeks, where the breached conditional release order requiring him to be of good behaviour will also be called up.

Documents tendered to Sutherland Local Court indicate officers pulled Marshall – an alleged ex-Comanchero bikie – over for a random vehicle stop in Carlton on July 7 last year.

A subsequent oral fluid gave a positive indication for cocaine.

“The accused has been charged multiple times for drug driving, supply of drugs, and weapons offences,” police stated in court documents.

The St George Shire Standard previously reported Marshall was sentenced to 18 months’ imprisonment for greater than indictable drug supply, dealing with crime proceeds worth $37,130 and prohibited drug possession after a police raid in March 2020.

At the time, the court heard he was subject to a firearms prohibition order and an 18-month community corrections order for reckless driving in relation to an incident where he was driving at 140km/h in a 70km/h zone.

A criminal history tendered to the court further indicates Marshall was fined $850 for mid-range drink driving in January 2012, and imprisoned for 16 months in February 2017 for assault causing actual bodily harm and possessing a prohibited weapon.

In October 2019, Marshall was fined a combined $2550 for two counts of possessing restricted substances and two counts of prohibited drug possession.

The Brighton Le Sands man will be sentenced on May 23.
