A WHIZ on both the cricket pitch and the golf course, St Clair’s Blake Hodges is a young athlete to watch.
In his first golf competition, the 10 year old took out the top spot and became the youngest ever member of the Dunheved Golf Club to get a handicap.
On top of this, Blake recently won the Sydney West PSSA Golf Championships with a personal best score, beating teens up to three years older than him.
If this isn’t enough, Blake is also one of St Clair’s best young cricketers having been selected for Penrith Junior Cricket’s under-11 representative side when he was just nine.
Blake has been nominated as this week’s Junior Sports Star and St Clair Hawks president Natalie Bradbury said he was one of the best up and coming athletes in the club.
“What I love about Blake is his enthusiasm and passion towards all of his sporting endeavours,” Mrs Bradbury said. “Whatever he tries, he gives it 100 per cent.
“He is also incredibly respectful and polite and shows great sportsmanship; I have a feeling we’ll see great things from this young man in the future.”
