It was another huge weekend of VFL action as some of the top teams did battle.
Here’s everything you need to know.
QUEENSLAND DOMINATION
Just two teams remain undefeated in the VFL for season — the Brisbane Lions and Gold Coast Suns.
The Suns occupy top spot on the ladder with a whopping percentage of 173.8 after winning their first six games, also boasting the strongest attack in the competition.
At the weekend, they claimed a thrilling 20-point victory over reigning premier Casey on the back of a big performance from Ned Moyle who had 19 disposals along with 42 hit-outs.
Charlie Constable put his hand up for senior selection with 31 disposals and 10 clearances.
Meanwhile, Brisbane was able to edge out Carlton by four points for the club’s first win at Ikon Park.
Jarryd Lyons and Kai Lohmann were among the Lions best.
DOLPHINS CONTINUE TO BUILD
It might have been just Frankston’s second win of the season but the signs are more than promising.
Former Essendon player Trent Mynott was the major ball winner on the ground with 32 disposals while Will Fordham had 30 of his own.
Josh Butland led the way with three goals for the Dolphins while Sydney rookie Hugo Hall-Kahan booted three of his own.
Mid Season Draft hopeful Kai Owens had 23 goals and kicked two.
Sydney now remains winless.
MACKENZIE SURELY EDGING CLOSER TO A RETURN
Hawthorn youngster Cam Mackenzie won’t be in the state league with Box Hill for much longer after he put together another impressive outing in his side’s 57-point win over the Northern Bullants.
The Hawks top pick in last year’s draft recorded 30 disposals, eight tackles and a goal in a big win at the weekend.
Callum Porter and Callum Porter were among the non-listed Box Hill players to impress.
For the Bullants, Saad El-Hawli, who is connected to Western Region league outfit Altona, booted four goals.
WILLI VETERAN DOES IT AGAIN
Ben Jolley is a marvel of the VFL and he doesn’t appear to be slowing down.
As he approaches 300 VFL games, Jolley had 28 disposals, the most of any player on the ground, in his side’s win over Collingwood.
Jolley has now played 296 games.
Finlay Macrae was the major ball winner for the Pies with 26 touches.
NORTH FATHER-SON’S IMPRESSIVE DISPLAY
If Cooper Harvey, the son of AFL games record holder Brent, can start producing these types of games more often it won’t be long before he’s in North Melbourne’s senior side.
Harvey finished with 17 disposals and four goals in his side’s 66-point victory over Sandringham on Sunday.
It was the first time he has recorded a double figure disposal count.
Sam Lowson and Eddie Ford also kicked three apiece.
WERRIBEE MOVE INTO THE TOP EIGHT
Werribee has moved into the top-eight after a come-from-behind win against Essendon.
Shaun Mannagh, who is considered a mid-season draft hope, collected 31 disposals in another impressive display.
Kye Declase and Dom Brew also found plenty of the footy for Werribee.
Rhett Montgomerie did his chances of an Essendon AFL debut no harm with another composed performance while Massimo D’Ambrosio responded well to his demotion to the reserves.
