Sydney Thunder stars to light up Kellyville cricket ground

INTERNATIONAL and Australian stars will light up Bruce Purser Reserve, Kellyville, on Sunday when Sydney Thunder bring out the big guns to The Hills.

INTERNATIONAL and Australian stars will light up Bruce Purser Reserve, Kellyville, on Sunday, December 14, when Sydney Thunder bring out the big guns to The Hills.

The entire Western Sydney squad, except South African great Jacques Kallis, are expected to be present to speak to fans and sign autographs, said Hurricanes spokesman David McDonald.

The Thunder, who include England’s Eoin Morgan and Australians Pat Cummins, Mike Hussey, Dirk Nannes, Eoin Morgan, Chris Tremain, Nathan Hauritz, Christ Hartley, Usman Khawaja and promising Josh Lalor and Jake Doran, are promoting the T20 Big Bash which gets under way on Thursday, December 18.

New recruits Andrew McDonald and English wicket-keeper batsman Craig Kieswetter could also attend the day at Kellyville.

Sydney Thunder will run a junior members clinic, kidszone activities, Milo T20 Blast and come and try day.

A celebrity eight-a-side T20 match will take place at 10.45am with details to be confirmed later.

McDonald said they need volunteers for the canteen, barbecue, ground operations, car parking, general duties and raffles.

The Fiddler will be running a courtesy bus to and from the ground. Parking at Bruce Purser will be restricted to Thunder Players, council staff and volunteers only.

McDonald said the others will have to park at either Centenary Park, netball centre, Rouse Hill High School or The Fiddler.

“This is our biggest ever event,” said McDonald, urging members and the community to support them for this special event.

The event will be from 7am-2pm.
