Bad day at training. Shock result in the local derby against the Wester Sydney Wanderers. It’s enough to drive a footballer mad.

But all Sydney FC forward Kosta Barbarouses has to do is go home, take a peek at his baby daughter, and all is right with the world again.

Just five weeks after wife Tara gave birth to daughter Lola, Barbarouses is a changed man.

“I can’t actually believe how much it has changed me,’’ Barbarouses said ahead of Friday night’s A-League clash with the Newcastle Jets at Leichhardt Oval.

SON OF A GUN: Speed record assault

Sydney FC were left fuming after their 1-0 derby loss to the Western Sydney Wanderers on Saturday night.

While Barbarouses thought he’d scored with a header from Brandon O’Neill’s corner in the second half, points were not awarded.

With his focus now on the match at Leichhardt Oval, the 29-year-old praised his wife as the most understanding of new mothers – even letting him sleep in the spare room so he is not disturbed before Sydney FC matches and training.
