Waratahs teenagers will be playing for a spot in the grand final when they take on Western Force in their final match of the rounds of Super Rugby U16s series in Sydney this weekend.
Top performances and strong form in the match-up will be rewarded well as coach Paul Cividin looks to finalise his line-up to defend the Waratahs U16s crown in the season decider next month.
The Waratahs have won their past three matches and are the only undefeated team in the comp while the Force have a 1-2 win/loss record.
“Mathematically we are there in the grand final but that doesn’t change our approach. We want to play to our standards and win,’’ Cividin said
“There’s jerseys on the line for the grand final. They will be playing for spots in the Force game.”
While his side has cruised through the season undefeated, Cividin still wants to see significant improvement from his squad against Western Force in their round five battle at Forshaw Park in Sydney’s south on Sunday.
“We want a higher level of execution,’’ he said.
“We are creating opportunity but just not finishing it off. That’s the final piece of the puzzle for us.
“We will make it a priority in a focus area.”
The match on Sunday kicks off at 11.40am.
The Waratahs U19s will also take on Western Force in a must win battle at the same venue with their game at 1.20pm.
