BATTING
It’s close at the top for runs scored. Hamish Nicolson (Kenthurst Upper Hills) leads the charge with 441, but the 10th grader (D Reserve) won’t have it all his own way as the finals approach.
Lachlan Gleave (Hornsby District) sits in second spot just 11 behind, and the 8th grader’s (C4 grade) 152 is also the highest score of the season.
When it comes to crunching tons, Nicolson is one of two to reach the milestone twice. Deshan Malalage (St Ives Wahroonga) is the other, and he also heads the 5th grade (C grade) aggregate.
BOWLING
The race with the ball promises to go down to the wire.
Turning into the straight ahead of the finals, it’s a three-way tie on 23 wickets. Davin Wood (Castle Hill RSL, 6th grade – C Reserve) heads the pack on average, ahead of Rahul Kamboj (Hornsby District, 1st grade) and Manraj Singh (West Pennant Hills Cherrybrook, 9th grade – D grade).
Suhas Abeysinghe has the pick of the figures. Turning out for Sydney Lions Sports Club, he picked up 8/64 in 7th grade (C3 grade).
