Gordon finished the preliminary rounds at the top of the U18s Brewer Shield table, but who topped the stats with bat and ball?
In the only online database covering all 15 preliminary rounds, we rank the stats of every player who scored at least one run and took a wicket.
Using the tables below, search the stats by player name or club, and click on each heading title to sort the data by category.
BATTING
The race for the batting crown came down to the final innings of the last round with Aditi Shidore trailing by nine runs.
But as she’s done all season, the U16s NSW Metro rep and Ghosts opener got the job done, finishing on 580 – 25 clear of Blacktown’s Athira Dilip Kumar.
A model of consistency throughout the season, Shidore struck a season-high six half centuries alongside Gordon opener Diya Sambrane.
For any player to score 120 or more runs, Shidore’s average of 52.7 is the highest across the preliminary rounds.
No player has reached triple figures in the Brewer Shield since Caoimhe Bray caught the eye of WBBL talent scouts with her swashbuckling 202 for Greater Hunter in last season’s grand final.
Manly’s Keira Terrey fell agonisingly short in round 13. The opener did everything asked of her teammates and coach, carrying her bat through the entire 50 overs to remain unbeaten on 98 from 163 deliveries.
Of the heavy hitters, no one came close to the consistent firepower of Gordon’s Jorja Horan. The all-rounder’s 261 runs ranked 14th, but her strike rate of 121 was unmatched for any player to score 70 or more runs.
BOWLING
A model of consistency with the ball, St George-Sutherland’s Beth Millican finished streets ahead of the competition with 28 wickets.
The left-armer struck at an eye-watering 8.79 runs per wicket and sits six wickets clear of four others on 22.
One of 10 bowlers to take five wickets in an innings, Manly’s Matilda Brown took 22 wickets at 7.95, including one hat-trick.
Gordon spinner Audrey Kirk was one of two to take six or more wickets in an innings with her 6/35 against Greater Hunter in round eight. But North Sydney’s Lana Sredojevic was unmatched for season-best figures.
The right-arm medium pacer shot the lights out in round 13 with 7/22 against Parramatta – the third best return in Brewer Shield history.
No stranger to doing things at half pace, Horan backed up her impressive deeds with the bat. The bustling quick and U16s state rep also picked up 16 wickets at 7.88 – the best average for anyone with 10 or more wickets.
Of all the bowlers with 15 or more wickets, Penrith’s Yashika Ramprasad and Horan struck the most often, averaging a wicket every 17 deliveries. While Matilda Brown and Greater Hunter’s Layla Graham conceded the least runs at just 2.4 per over.
