As teams in the Manly Warringah Cricket Association buckle up for the run towards the finals, we’ve crunched the numbers and ranked every batter and bowler across all six senior grades to see who is leading the charge.
In the only online database where the statistics of every player (T20 excluded) have been ranked, we highlight the stars at the head of the pack before the action returns on Saturday, January 13.
With the willow, Mona Vale’s Callum Annear has started the summer in irresistible form. In eight innings the second grade star has amassed 444 runs at 55.5 including two fifties and a century.
But with Collaroy Plateau third-grader Blake Conde just 23 behind, the race for the crown promises to go right down to the wire.
That said, when it comes to an immovable force, Daniel Cunningham is the one bowlers fear most. In just four knocks in sixth grade, the Collaroy Plateau opener has crunched 311 runs and is yet to be dismissed. Currently ranked 10th for runs scored, if he can see out the majority of the closing rounds, he’s a dark horse for the title.
Peter Langstreth is another Mona Vale second grader to keep an eye on. Batting at No. 8 in the opening round he struck an unbeaten 154, the highest score to date across all grades.
On the bowling list, Warwick Symcox has 26 wickets at a scarcely believable 5.88 apiece. Eight clear of the chasing pack, the Manly Breakers gun also has the season’s best return of 8-9.
