Jessica Fox hopes it’s a good omen that a dream she has had for years could come true at the Paris Olympics - racing alongside her younger sister.

It’s a different team event than the one that will be raced in Paris next year but Fox, sister Noemie and good mate Kate Eckhardt have raced off with a world title in the women’s team kayak in a big show of power for the Australians.

The sisters combined for their first world title in the boat at the Lee Valley Whitewater Centre in London overnight when they and Eckhardt beat Spain and Great Britain for the gold.

Fox, the Penrith paddler who has won gold, silver and bronze medals at her past three Olympics, said it brings “great energy and a great vibe’’ to the task ahead - qualifying boats for Paris and winning more world titles.

The sisters and Eckhardt secured the gold medal in the team kayak in 108.62, 0.29 secs ahead of Spain in silver and 0.40 ahead of hosts Great Britain in third.

“Now to stand on the top of the podium is K1 women’s champions is just incredible.’’
